Technical indicators, explained simply
Each page covers the calculation, how to read it, and concrete screener-rule examples. All of these indicators are available on charts and in the screener.
RSI (Relative Strength Index)
The most popular momentum oscillator: it bounds the strength of a move between 0 and 100 and flags overbought and oversold conditions.
MACD (Moving Average Convergence Divergence)
A momentum indicator built on two exponential moving averages: its crossovers and histogram measure the acceleration and exhaustion of trends.
Ichimoku Kinko Hyo
A complete analysis system in a single indicator: five lines and a cloud that show trend, key levels and momentum at a glance.
Bollinger Bands
A volatility envelope around a moving average: the bands widen when the market gets busy and tighten when it calms down.
Simple Moving Average (SMA)
The oldest and most widely used trend indicator: an average of recent closes that smooths out market noise and acts as a dynamic reference line.
Exponential Moving Average (EMA)
A moving average that gives more weight to recent candles: it hugs price more closely than the SMA and reacts earlier to trend changes.
Stochastic Oscillator
A bounded oscillator measuring where price closes relative to its recent extremes: near the highs, the market is strong; near the lows, it is weak.
ADX (Average Directional Index)
The indicator that answers the question that comes before all others: is there a trend? Its +DI and -DI lines then reveal its direction.
ATR (Average True Range)
The reference indicator for measuring volatility: it tells you how much an asset moves per candle on average, saying nothing about direction.
VWAP (Volume Weighted Average Price)
The average that weights each price by traded volume: the VWAP shows the average price the market actually paid and serves as a benchmark for institutional players.
Volume
The fuel behind price moves: volume reveals the conviction behind each candle and separates solid breakouts from false starts.
Price: the raw data behind all technical analysis
Before any indicator, there is price. The close, open, high and low of each candle are the building blocks of your screener rules.
Multi-timeframe Ichimoku (MTF)
Display the daily Ichimoku cloud directly on your hourly chart: higher timeframe levels become visible right where you trade.
